The fragrant Mediterranean flowers and herbs perfume your surroundings, mingling with the refreshing scent of the nearby Ionian Sea. Your senses awaken, invigorated by the tantalising aroma and the gentle caress of the salty breeze.

Immediately capturing your attention, a captivating sight unfolds before you—the sparkling pool beckons invitingly, its crystal-clear waters reflecting the vibrant turquoise-blue hues of the Sea. The scenery is nothing short of awe-inspiring, with breathtaking views stretching as far as the eye can see.

Overwhelmed by the irresistible allure of the villa, you find yourself yearning to dive into the enticing pool. As much as you desire to leave your luggage by the gate, all you can think about is surrendering to the temptation and immersing yourself in the pure delight that awaits.

Amari Villa surpassed all our expectations and left an indelible impression on us. From the moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by its spaciousness, comfort, and impeccable cleanliness. The villa was meticulously equipped with everything we could possibly need, ensuring our stay was as convenient as it was luxurious.

What truly set Amari Villa apart was the warm and welcoming owners, who went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. They, before our arrival, provided us with invaluable tips and recommendations, ensuring we made the most of our time there. To our delight, they even arranged a car hire for us from Kefalonia airport, making our arrival seamless and stress-free.

The villa boasts three exquisite bathrooms and five beautifully appointed bedrooms, three of which had their own balconies. Each bedroom is equipped with air-conditioning, ensuring our comfort even in the warmest weather. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and we slept peacefully every night, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated each morning. Stepping out onto the balconies, one is immediately captivated by the breathtaking panorama of the sea, majestic mountains, and the charming village of Spartia. The scenery was simply awe-inspiring, taking one’s breath away with its sheer beauty and splendour.

The kitchen was a culinary haven, fully stocked with everything we required to prepare our own meals. Additionally, we relished the opportunity to indulge in mouthwatering grilled fish and meat in the spacious outdoor BBQ area. For leisurely indoor moments, the living room provided a cosy fireplace, a large TV, and a selection of books and games for our entertainment. However, our time indoors was limited as we were irresistibly drawn to the breathtaking surroundings.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of our stay was the magnificent pool. It was an expansive oasis of sparkling cleanliness, embraced by comfortable sun loungers and shaded by parasols. Our children delighted in splashing and playing in the water, while we luxuriated on the terrace, sipping wine and soaking in the mesmerizing views of the sea and mountains. The pool offered an unparalleled sense of privacy, cocooning us in our own personal paradise.

Amari Villa not only met our every need but exceeded them in ways we couldn’t have imagined. It was a haven of serenity, comfort, and beauty—a place where cherished memories were made and treasured forever.

The villa’s location in Spartia offered a delightful and picturesque setting. The village itself exuded charm, with its quaint streets and inviting atmosphere. It was a joy to explore, with a couple of mini markets, cafes/bars, and a taverna. These local amenities provide convenience and the opportunity to immerse oneself in the local culture.

One of the villa’s great advantages was its proximity to the beautiful beaches. A mere 10-minute walk led to Spartia Beach, a sandy and shallow haven that was perfect for young children. The ease of access made it an ideal spot for relaxation and family fun. Moreover, the villa’s location opened up opportunities to explore other stunning beaches nearby, such as Pessada, Avithos, Lourdas, and Trapezaki. Each beach offered its own unique beauty and allowed us to experience the coastal splendour of the area.

Staying at Amari Villa allowed for a balance between tranquillity and convenience. The village provided a peaceful retreat, with the serenity and charm that characterized the area. For livelier nightlife and a wider array of entertainment options, a short car ride to Argostoli was all it took. In Argostoli, one could experience the vibrant nightlife and explore the bustling city atmosphere. However, returning to the peaceful oasis of Amari Villa after a day of exploration and excitement was a welcome respite.

    Kefalonia Island

Kefalonia is a stunning island with so much to see and do. We hired a car from the airport which gave us the freedom to explore the island at our own pace. Here are some of the highlights of our holiday:

Argostoli: This is the capital city of Kefalonia, and it’s only a 15-minute drive from the villa. We visited Argostoli several times during our stay, as it has a lot of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. We also enjoyed strolling along the waterfront promenade, where we saw some loggerhead turtles swimming in the harbour. We also visited the Archaeological Museum, which has some interesting exhibits about the history and culture of Kefalonia.

argostoli - Debosset Bridge, the Obelix
Argostoli the buzzing Capital of Kefalonia

Melissani Cave: This is one of the most famous attractions in Kefalonia, and it’s well worth a visit. Melissani Cave is an underground lake that is illuminated by natural sunlight through an opening in the roof. The water is crystal clear and has an amazing turquoise colour. We took a boat tour inside the cave, which was very magical and romantic.

Myrtos Beach: This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Greece, and it’s easy to see why. Myrtos Beach is a long stretch of white sand surrounded by steep cliffs and turquoise water. It’s very scenic and photogenic, but also quite windy and wavy, so not ideal for swimming with young children. We preferred to admire it from above, from a viewpoint on the road that leads to it.

Assos: This is one of the most picturesque villages in Kefalonia, located on a small peninsula on the west coast of the island. Assos has a charming atmosphere, with colourful houses, narrow streets and flower-filled balconies. It also has a small pebbly beach and a Venetian castle on top of a hill that offers panoramic views of the village and the sea.

Fiskardo: This is another lovely village on the north coast of Kefalonia, famous for its traditional architecture and cosmopolitan vibe. Fiskardo has a lot of cafes, restaurants and boutiques along its waterfront, where you can enjoy some delicious seafood and watch the yachts come and go. Fiskardo is also a popular spot for sailing and diving, as it has some amazing coves and reefs nearby.

Mount Ainos: This is the highest mountain in Kefalonia, reaching 1628 meters above sea level. It’s also a national park, home to a unique species of fir trees and wild horses. We decided to hike to the summit of Mount Ainos, which took us about three hours from the parking lot. The hike was challenging but rewarding, as we enjoyed some spectacular views of the island and the sea along the way. The summit was very windy and cold, so we didn’t stay long, but we felt very proud of our achievement.

We had an amazing holiday at Amari Villa in Kefalonia, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxury and relaxing holiday with their family. We can’t wait to go back and discover more of this beautiful island.
